At present, the age of the average gamer is 37; you may wonder why so many individuals of this exact age are tuned into a variety of video games. This age is significant because from 1977 to 1984, Atari (the original games’ machine) was in action. This makes the majority of 37 year olds amongst the first to experience a games console.

Many may in fact still own some of the original Atari games, which were first featured on floppy discs – a far cry from the High Definition CDs, apps and downloads of today.

In this day and age, games consoles have moved on considerably. Gaming fanatics can play in both the comfort of their own home and on the move. From PlayStations and Nintendo Wii’s to iPads and smartphones, it is now possible to play some of your favourite games from a number of devices, in a variety of locations.

Gaming in the 21st Century isn’t refined to a desk, it’s fast-paced, involved and often includes a wireless console, or in some cases, no console at all. Take the Nintendo Wii for example; players are able to use the console’s controller in the shape of a golf club, a bat, a set of bowls or a sword. Many even use this device as a way in which to exercise.

Even those that work full time jobs, boast home commitments and a hectic social calendar, will still find time to play on many of the games in existence today. With new releases and applications being announced on a day-to-day basis, there is no time to tire of gaming, as there is always something new to keep us entertained.

However, with so many games on the market, and more and more of us buying into the newest releases, many will find they have a stockpile of gaming discs in their house, many of which will never be used again. Selling these unwanted games would certainly bring in a little extra collateral, which can then be used towards newer editions.

All you have to do is find an online site that will help you sell these unwanted games. When I chose to sell my games with online recycling sites, I found that you can get a great return on unwanted gadgets and electronic media with cash sums offered on everything from CDs, DVDs and games right through to consoles, mobile phones and even laptops or tablets.

The modern day individual constantly wants the next best thing, which means when a new game is released, most won’t think twice about buying it.

The fact that many adults are still playing video games today suggests that gaming is not a pastime you grow out of. Today’s games are however more advanced than they once were. The characters are more complex, the backgrounds more realistic and plots more in depth.
