Now that your company is focusing on marketing via the Internet, it probably seems like you have endless options to promote your brand or spread the word about your newest product. Make no mistake that Facebook is essential to success in today’s world of social networking.
1. It’s Fast to Set Up:
Even if you’re not tech savvy, creating a profile for your business or brand is as easy as hitting a few buttons or the buttons on your mouse several times. Business pages use templates, so all you have to do is enter your information in the appropriate form field. Because Facebook now allows you to select your vanity URL, you can — and should — use your company name in the URL. If your business has a popular name, consider adding your location or industry to the URL. For example, if “JohnSmith” is unavailable, “JohnSmithSEO” or “JohnSmithSeattle” might be appropriate.
2. It’s Easy to Measure Results:
Once you’ve got your page up and you’re posting on a daily basis, you’ll want to see the rewards for your hard work. Fortunately, Facebook’s own Insights panel allows you to easily see fans and engagement whenever you log on to your page. A quick glance shows whether the content you post, the way you word those updates and even the timing is helping or hurting your marketing. In fact, Facebook breaks down engagement for individual posts, so it couldn’t be easier to see what’s working. If you don’t use any other analysis tools, you’ll still have a perfectly-accurate idea about what’s going on with your page.
3. It’s Easy to Target Locally:
Perhaps you’ve stayed away from Facebook because your small business works with local customers. You’re in Michigan, and you don’t need to advertise to people in Texas or even China. However, Facebook’s options allow you to select countries, states or even metropolitan areas when you’re promoting your brand’s page. A similar option exists when sharing content. Select the “Target to” button to choose “Language/Location.” Enter the locales or languages that pertain to your post. Perhaps you’re a German company that wants to attract consumers from nearby countries or your business has multiple locations. Your page has suddenly become more useful to the public.
4. It’s Possible to Integrate it With Other Social Media Platforms:
You might feel overwhelmed when deciding which social networks to use. Where else do you need to be active besides Facebook? Fortunately, you can connect Twitter to Facebook via the official app to post your updates on Facebook to Twitter or vice versa. Furthermore, photos uploaded to Twitter or Instagram now show thumbnails on your Facebook page. However, if you really want to get serious, several third-party programs enable simultaneous posting to multiple social networks. HootSuite is one of the most popular options, and you can update Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other sites with it.
5. It Helps You Develop Your Campaign with Insights:
We’ve already talked up Facebook’s Page Admin panel, complete with insights. However, you’re not limited to Facebook. You can measure clicks to your website with Google Analytics, for example. Bit.ly offers simile insights into clicks on your links, and third-part tool PageLevel is one of the first that provides in-depth analysis of your Facebook page.
