Ohhh….! I needed the way to prevent spam comments in my WordPress blog.I was just working on my blog and approving my comments as the total number of comments that are waiting approval is around 2100.So, i thought that this is the best time to approve or disapprove all the comments.Otherwise when the number of comments will become more than this then i will face problem.So, i just started to approve all those comments and this time i was trying to read my comments carefully and was taking decision to whether it will get approved or not.Actually i was trying to recognize the spammers.

You will get several type of comments in your blog.Some comments are not related to your blog at all and they just comment blindly to promote their post.
The second type of comments are just for leaving links.They do not care whether this is related to their topic or not.They just comment on your post.Sometimes it is helpful but not all the time.It just provides more work to you to approve them.

So,while moderating my comments i was facing difficulty which comment should i approve and which comment i should not approve.So, it was a bit kind of confusing.As i was discovering that many comments are from spammers , they just spam to you website.

How to prevent spam commenting in your WordPress blog?
This is very easy to prevent you WordPress blog from spam commenting.Because there is a high power Spam preventing tool or plugin in your WordPress Blog.The plugin that prevents Spam commenting is Akismet.After getting this in the search result i have also searched for its review and found that this is the most powerful tool to prevent spam commenting.
Activation of Akismet is also very easy.You just need to install it in your WordPress blog.At first check whether this plugin is already installed in your wordpress blog or not.Cause in most of the cases it is always previously installed but not activated.
If it is not installed in your blog then no need to get worried.Just search for this plugin in your WordPress dashboard and then install it.Alike other plugin this is not just clicking Activate and plugin gets activated.You need to do some additional step to active this plugin.Which is very simple.
After activating this plugin it will ask for a Akismet API Key. To acquire this key you need to sign up for Akismet with your email address and the Akismet API Key will be sent to your email account.
While signing up you may get different plans.But you can install it for free.Just choose the Personal package and then set the amount as zero dollar.Then create account.Then your API key will be sent to your email address.
Just get the Akismet API key and put it in the box where the key was asked and then update.Now you are done.
Some Important Tips after installation of Akismet :
After installing this Akismet you are quite sure that you will not get much spam comments in your posts.But while moderating comments please be sure to moderate the correct one.If you mistakenly approve some comment from some url which are from spammer then Akismet will also not treat those as Spam.So,be careful while approving the comments and always approve the comments after reading.Do not just blindly approve comments.
