But despite all the features that comes with this  flagship os many still finds it very hard Operating it without damaging their devices such as memory card , external hdd , usb sticks , pen drives and other external storage devices owing more the complains I have gotten from the users of my technology forum who just started using the windows 8 operating system recently , which is the main reason I’m writing on how you can reduce any possible data loss to 0% on your usb drives irrespective of the operating system .

1. Ignore The Tech Geeks and Embrace Your “Safely Remove hardware” Icon by the windows 8 task-bar  : Time and time again the tech geeks keep telling us to completely ignore the safely remove hardware Icon telling us that the windows 8 operating system is already optimized for it . Yeah! Sure! the tech geeks are just 100% right, But you ‘ll need consider how expensive that 5seconds hurry could be if it results to data loss for the files and documents you ‘ve taken years to store . Besides, most computer virus and background programs could keep your usb drive in use even when you ‘ve personally exited all the programs you initiated by yourself , so to be on the safer side use the “safely remove hardware Icon” to be double sure of your drive not being in use after all the whole action takes less than five seconds .

2. Buy From Trusted Brands Only : This is not in any way trying to exonerate those big brands like hp , lg , samsung , accer , kingston , databrave , dell and etc. as there are fake products every where but one good thing about this brands is that they can offer you support and refund too if need be . One of the usb sticks Selling Companies I patronized when I was still with my former employee offered me   a new usb stick when One among the several order we made was writing “Disk Write protected ” and there wasn’t any way we could have resolved it ourselves then . So you need make wise decision when it comes to buying data storage of any kind and buy from trusted resellers like ebay.co.uk and etc. So as to avoid being frustrated after storing so much in it . Also Check  that the drive you are buying is fully compatible with windows machines and windows 8(R) operating system in particular .

2. Always Do a Periodic Cloud / Local Backup Of Your Drive  : Many neglect this at their own detriment and I for once have never in my lifetime spotted any excuse for not doing a backup for your personal removable storage devices and usb sticks . The only excuse I have seen and can approve so far is pride , laziness and carefree approach to your personal files. after all most cloud backup services like mozy , dropbox , media f etc. are free and can be automated , let alone the local machine where you can “simply plug in your usb storage drive ” and hit ctrl + c to copy and ctrl + v to paste on the dated folder you ‘ve already created while snoring in  your bedroom waking up to see the backup completed . “A stitch in time saves nine they say ”

3. Force Delete the Stubborn Files Without Data-loss / Disk Damage :  Many a times we encounter error such “error deleting file / folder ” telling us that the disk could be in use . you need not unplug your disk out of anger when such messages pops up on your Microsoft windows 8 machine as this could damage your data without any atom of pity . All you need do is simply do a simple google search on the term “unlocker free download for windows 8” as seen in this image  http://i49.tinypic.com/2roruib.jpg install the right version for your os (x86 or x64 bits) and right click on that stubborn files / folder choosing unlocker to force delete the files without damaging your drive or loosing any data .

4. Use Good and Up-to Date Anti-Virus Programs : No matter what preventive measures you ‘ve taken up-to date anti -virus program is one you can not afford to neglect need I write more on this ? Hell no pals just make sure your anti – virus / internet security is up-to date and also perform periodic scan for your drives to prevent loss / data damage .
