1) Weak Signals:

If the signals in the area in which you are staying are very weak, that requires more power for your battery to work properly. It uses a major portion of your battery power and thus reduces the battery backup and also it’s working life. It is not necessary to use the phone when it’s in low signal area to drain its battery completely. Even if you keep it idle in a weak network place for some time, it will consume the battery power completely. If you keep your mobile in purse, handbag or some other remote place than they can act as signal inhibitors and hence the battery power will be consumed quickly. It’s better to switch off the mobile when you are in a weak signal area.

2) Restart Your Smartphone:

Smartphones and iPhones have almost everything that a computer has and hence you would be using it continuously for hours. If you are a fan of facebook, twitter, Gmail or any other related social media network, the chances of you using the mobile the whole day are very high. In such cases, mobile gets very busy and may become hot. Besides that, its memory would be used up too much and that may slow down the phone. So you have to restart it at least once in a day to make it work properly again.

3) Remember Smartphones Get Older as They Age:

This is true in case of any full fledged computer. If you are using a desktop or laptop, you might have observed this fact. As the time passes, the memory of the computer will be loaded up with a lot of data and information and that obviously slows down the computer. Same is true in case of smartphone and iPhone also. So if your iPhone or smartphone is too old to use, better to discard it and purchase a new one. You can’t repair it and make it work properly again.

4) Playing Videos on the Phone:

This is another reason which eats up a lot of power of your battery. If you have the habit of watching the movies or videos in your smartphone or cell phone, remember that it requires a lot of power and hence your battery will dry up quickly. Besides that, the movies consume a lot of space in your phone. A single HD movie of length 2 hours consumes approximately 700 MB of memory. As more and more memory gets consumed in the mobile, the working speed and performance decreases.

5) Screen Protectors:

Screen protectors such as a thin sheet of plastic etc are not good for the phone. Today the touch screen sets are coming with a protective coat of Gorilla glass on them and that provides very good protection to the screen. There are many other good screen protectors also which comes along with the set. So you needn’t to have any other protective layer for your set. There are some screen protectors which help to reduce the glare, but they decrease the sensitivity and response time of your touch screen. Hence it is better to avoid such screen protectors.

6) Prefer Camera than Cellphone for Clicking Photos:

Remember that the cameras provided with the phones have digital zoom, but no optical zoom. Digital zoom just increases the pixels of the image, but the image will be blurred significantly. So it is always better to use a camera instead of mobile if you want to take pictures of something. Cameras have optical zoom and increases the image size without hiding the details of the image. If you don’t have a camera and it is inevitable to use the cell phone for taking the pictures, try to take pictures from a close range. That will increase the image quality.

7) Don’t Talk on Cell Phone While Driving:

In fact it is better not to touch the cell at all while you are driving. Many people use cell phones while riding bikes. They keep the mobile in between their head and shoulder and go on talking. That is not only dangerous to you as you are vulnerable to accidents in such conditions, but also dangerous to your cell phone also, because you may press some unnecessary button or apply too much pressure on the phone between your head and shoulder.

8) Never Respond to Unknown Numbers:

Never respond to any messages coming from unknown numbers and never call back if you get a call from any number which is having the code of a foreign country. You will lose your money and in some cases, your cell phone will also be damaged because it may contract viruses from unknown numbers. If you get a call from foreign number and you respond it, international charges will apply for that and your account balance will be consumed rapidly. So be careful not to fall victim to any such unknown numbers. You can also perform reverse phone lookup with the help of phonecallpages.com.

9) Keep the Keypad of Your Cell Phone Locked:

If you keep it unlocked, there are chances that any number in your contact list might be dialed accidentally and your account balance will be gone. In some other cases, some service messages that the mobile companies send to your number will be activated by accidental key press and in such cases, you will be doomed. So always keep the keypad of your cell phone locked when you are not using the phone.

So, keeping the cell phone in good working condition is not a difficult task. You have to understand some simple and basic concepts about the cell phones and follow the above said instructions properly. Then you will be able to keep your phone working for a long time, say for several years.
