Using a phone in your car can be a big distraction and very dangerous, unless you use it right! There are plenty of apps available for the iPhone that will make your phone a useful commodity in your car without putting yourself or others at risk. Whether you want to see details about your journey, or even sync your iPhone music with your car stereo, here are some great ways to integrate iPhone with your car.

Recreate Your Car’s Dashboard on Your Phone:

Many new cars will have super fancy dashboards that will tell you how many miles you’ve done, how much petrol you’ve been using and other journey details. Those who do not have a brand new car, or want to be able to see the details clearer can now do so on their phone. There are several free apps that will give you detailed information on your journeys. Most of these work alongside a GPS system to see how far you have driven, how quick it took you and the average petrol consumption. This is a great way of integrating your car and phone together, as well as finding out useful details on how to reduce fuel costs!

Staying Safe in the Car with Your iPhone:

Everybody knows that it is against the law to be on your phone in the car, which is where there are now a plethora of safety apps to help you out! If you place your iPhone in a holder then it is in the safest place possible, although it makes it very hard to see the screen. There are a lot of apps out that make for a safer experience with voice activated calls and even reading the text out on your screen. This means you can keep your eyes on the road and never put yourself, or others, in any danger.

 Integrating Your Music System:

Whether you have a tape or CD player in your car, you can listen to all of your iPhone music library whilst driving along! Time to get rid of all those scratched up CDs or (God forbid) tapes and get with the times. You can buy several very cheap leads that will plug into your cigarette lighter, or into your tape deck and take over your music system. Most of these will come with an FM transmitter and work over the radio waves. Very clever, just don’t ask us how it’s done exactly! Those with newer cars may be lucky enough to find that your iPhone will sync up with your music player easily, without any leads or wires at all.

Staying safe in your car is paramount, which is why it is recommended you always pull over to the side of the road when you need to use the phone. These apps and gadgets will make using your phone easier, but always make sure you are bearing the laws in mind too! If you’re unsure on what they are then the DVLA also has a handy little app that will tell you everything you need to know. It’s an iPhone world indeed.
